Teresa Thompson-Pinckney, President

Dr. Teresa Thompson-Pinckney currently serves as the President of T. Pinckney & Associates, LLC, a consulting firm that specializes in organizational development through capacity building services to include youth/young adult program development, program evaluation, staff training, needs assessments and strategic planning.

tpickney_headshot_600Dr. Thompson-Pinckney has served as an instructor at Fayetteville State University, the University of North Carolina at Pembroke and Duke University. Here research interest comprises of PK-16 Pipeline, Organizational Development and Leadership, College Access, Youth/Young Adult Development and Data-based decision making.

  • Graduate of the UNC-Chapel Hill BRIDGES Leadership Program for Women in Higher Education
  • Graduate of United Way –Cumberland, Multi-Cultural Leadership Development Program
  • Graduate of Fayetteville Citizens Academy
  • Received grant awards totaling 6,860,000 from the U.S. Department of Education
  • Received the “Young Careerist Award” from the Fayetteville Federation of Business & Professional Women’s Clubs, Inc.

Dr. Thompson-Pinckney was born in Lubbock Texas. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminology & Criminal Justice (University of Texas at Arlington), Masters of Art Degree in Sociology (Fayetteville State University), and Doctorate of Education in Educational Leadership (Fayetteville State University). She is currently a member of the American Evaluation Association, American Sociological Association, North Carolina Council of Educational Opportunity Programs, and Southeastern Association of Educational Opportunity Programs.

Dr. Thompson-Pinckney is the wife of SFC Pinckney (active) and has two children.
