Parental Involvement
Improving parent/teen communication skills and increasing parental involvement in students academic performance is a win-win for any family. Research shows that youth whose parents are involved in their education tend to have a higher self-esteem and do better academically in school.  The Mind OVER Matter YDI promotes three core principals, known as the MOM Principles©.  These principles are as follows:
  • Effective parenting makes a difference
  • Involvement in your child’s education increases success
  • Instilling self-awareness in your child is key
The implementation and reinforcement of The MOM Principles© provides parents with skills for helping their children with school and home success.
